 FREELANCE TRAINING
with Heather Hopkins

Heather spends her time part-time teaching and part-time self-employed with her own private clients, as well as being a director of the FHBF.
 Freelance Courses for Freelance Operators
The FHBF wants to encourage members to enjoy training courses without feeling under pressure or embarrassed because they have not been involved with training for some time.

With this in mind, Heather is delighted to report that, as promised, FHBF Training has stepped up a gear and our business start-up course “Setting Up A Mobile Business” is now taking bookings for January and February. The first ever course was presented by FHBF member Karen Braysher who has many years experience running her own very succesful business and is also a member of the FHBF Artistic Team. The course is aimed at both newly qualified and experienced members, and covers all aspects of starting up your new business.

"I found the information enlightening and the day rekindled my enthusiasm and motivation to streamline my operation"
One member, who has been running her business for several years, reported back to us that she found the information enlightening and the day rekindled her enthusiasm and motivation to streamline her operation.

And don’t forget “Presenting A Professional Business” if you want to learn how to present yourself and your business professionally.

Following the successful piloting of our two specialist courses we are now ready to introduce our latest addition “Colour with Confidence” presented by Heather. Heather has taught similar courses for several years and is skilled at raising peoples’ knowledge and confidence. We all know how difficult it is, when you have been hairdressing for years, to admit that your confidence with colouring is not what you would like it to be. This course is aimed at those who lack confidence with choosing colour and using new colours on their clients.

It will take you back to basics, help you to correctly identify colour depths and tones and understand the variations between developers. You will be given the confidence to select the correct products and learn the techniques to create funky and fashionable looks on clients of all ages.

 Understanding FHBF Training Days
Understanding FHBF training days is really very simple, the titles of the courses do not change very often but every course is different.

How can that be?
Simple!

Each time the course is run it has a different trainer/tutor with different models. Each trainer/tutor has a different way of presenting and of course models' needs are never the same twice, so the days are always different with new and different things to learn.

Remember, it is not the title of the course that is important, it is the content and every course offers a different experience. We never know it all; there is always something new to pick up. A piece of information or a technique!

Training is vital
We all need to train regularly and it is a recognised fact that if you take away even one new piece of information, one new idea, a new slant on an old theme or just reinforce and confirm your own knowledge the day has been a worthwhile experience!

Please bear this information in mind when you check the courses advertised. It may be a similar title but the content is never the same! Neither are the members that you have the opportunity of meeting and sharing experiences with. That is always an added bonus!
